My ‘subject’, postnatal depression,  has been suffered by some MP’s along with other conditions such as OCD. The widely accepted statistic that 1 in 4 of us as adults will need treatment for a mental health issue during our lives, continues to affect so many of us.

Perhaps articles such as these will help reduce the stigma around it, along with celebrity stories. My desire is that these real life stories result in real actions and long-term funding where it is needed.

I addressed health professionals in London earlier this week. There are some amazing people out there who truly wish to help those affected by mental illness. Bring on the ACTION to help them!

I know I did not like people telling me I looked well – it added to my guilt! Much better to pass a compliment on hair or clothing.
