A couple of months ago fellow trustees of the Joanne Bingley Memorial Foundation and I were invited along to a ball held by the Huddersfield Pendragon Ladies’ Circle. I was accompanied by my friend (and “boss”) Mike Coote from Stratagem Plus Group. I now do regular coaching work with his company.

Ann and her husband Iain plus Mary and Sally were also there. Sadly my camera was on a wrong setting and all my pictures were blurred!

Yorkshire Life reported that ‘Guests at the Huddersfield Pendragon Ladies’ Circle annual ball, A Night at the Oscars, raised £4,057 for the Alzheimer’s Campaign and the Joanne (Joe) Bingley Memorial Trust.

The event was held at Bertie’s Banqueting Rooms in Elland, Halifax. Fundraising for the year has so far reached £10,084.04.’

The ladies certainly know how to throw an amazing event! The attention to detail was fantastic – such as wrapping all the raffle prizes in cellophane and having ‘toys’ on the table such as pea shooters.  It is incredible how much fun ‘sensible’ adults can have with balloons!

I have been lucky enough to attend many similar events yet I rate this as one of the best. The atmosphere in the room was fantastic from the start. Everyone had made an effort to dress up and the entertainment and food were brilliant.

It was clear that the ladies had worked incredibly hard getting donations, decorating the venue and putting a great event together.
