If so, I’d let to invite you to be involved in an event on 23rd October via Lorraine Cavanagh …

‘I am the programme support officer working on The Improving Maternity Experiences Programme which has been commissioned by NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) to improve maternity services across Merseyside, Wirral, Warrington and West Lancashire. The Improving me programme wishes to engage with as many patient/public groups as possible and ensure patient experience is at the heart of the work we are doing to improve maternity services.

The programme launch will be held on Friday, 23rd October, 2015 from 10am to 3pm at Select Security Stadium, Lower House Lane, Widnes WA8 7DZ. Please note registration will be from 9.45-10.30.

We are looking to include women, babies, partners, grandparents, siblings and extended families from a cross section of local communities. I would be very grateful if you could either suggest people to contact or volunteers within your networks for the following:

• Photos to upload to our website and promotional materials (in development).
• Patients willing to be filmed talking about their story, experiences and hopes for future services.
• Patients willing to speak at the launch event for 5 minutes.
• Any current videos/DVDs produced by organisations which we could use parts of for the programme.

We would like to feature stories which raise the profiles of:

• Perinatal Mental health.
• Preterm/neonatal births.
• Complex pregnancies and births/adverse outcomes and what could have been done better/how well they were supported.
• Different BME communities.
• Good experiences; which we are hoping are the majority.

There will be free ‘market place’ stands at the launch for maternity and family services support groups who may wish to hold an exhibition to promote their services. Registration, lunch  and the filming pod will take place in the exhibition hall and this will be a good opportunity for exhibitors to network.

Kindly let me know if you or your networks are interested in having a stand. If you cannot attend the event but would like to showcase your services please send me links or hard copy information packs which can be displayed on the day.
